In the lead up to the release of Emma Louise’ new album Supercry, Mushroom Records asked if I’d spend a day with Emma and record some intimate, solo live tracks in one of her favourite creative spaces, Brisbane’s Old Museum.
Emma loves spending her days here, and is kind of an unofficial mascot of the venue, so she knows some lovely hidden areas around the venue.
Along with Alex L’estrange on audio production, I filmed and edited two tracks. We decided to try and keep the look of the tracks diverse, so I filmed West End Kids as a single-shot, wide-angle exploration of one of the disused nooks in the Museum.
Then for Shut The Door we moved to the main stage, turned off most of the lights, and left her floating in soft-focus space:
