QSPressTitle: Post to your Blog from Quicksilver

This is a script for Quicksilver. Modified from the original by Garrick Van Buren, released under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 License.

What you need:

How to Install It:

Download the script to your Mac.
Edit the script (Double-clicking the script should open it in Script Editor) and enter your blog Username, Password, and URL. Save and exit Script Editor.
Save the file to [your home directory]/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/Actions
Restart Quicksilver by invoking it and pressing [ctrl + cmd + q].

How to Use It:

Invoke Quicksilver.
Hit period to enter text mode, type your post Title, followed by a Colon and a Space, then the post text. Like this:

I Seriously Love Quicksilver Right Now: No really, it’s totally awesome. I couldn’t even tell you how awesome it is if you had a lot of time and money to invest in my telling you how awesome Quicksilver is.

Hit tab to get to the Action part, get ready for the awesome.
Type qspress, for as long as it takes for the “qspress” action to come up.
Hit enter
Rock!

In a couple of seconds Quicksilver should popup with a notification, showing you the post ID. This means it’s worked. Check your blog. Marvel at the shiny new post sitting there, and think about how many hundred times a day you’re going to blog now. It’s so easy!

What’s Next?

I’d really like to be able to choose which category I’m posting to. So far I can’t get that to work. I’m sure it will eventually, but right now I don’t know enough about XML-RPC.

I’d also like to save the blog username and password to the Keychain, Coda Hale’s Twitter Quicksilver script does this, I’m thinking about borrowing some of his code.

Multi-Blogs? Sure, why not. Images? Erm… Much more complicated I’d say.

If you’d like to make any suggestions or ask questions, please use the page where I first annouced this script.
